First up was 'Honey & Wine' from Cyprus (can't find its Cypriot name or any link) about two lonely women finding solace in each other's company. It was almost interminably slow (even for me) and put Seal to sleep.
Then came The Warrior, an Irrfan Khan starrer about an executioner in Rajasthan's desert land trying to wash the blood off his hands, and eventually .... Not sure how this movie qualifies for a European FF though - go research!
Last and the best of the day was Äideistä parhain (Mother of Mine) from Finland about a Finnish war child, his two mothers and the love, separation and rejection (in different orders for different moms) that WWII inflicts upon them.
I'm going back for more during the week. And Happy Birthday, Mom!
Update: The official site for the European Film Festival 2007 with schedule and movie synopses is here.
